Bloomingdale’s Corporate Office, commonly referred to as Central, is comprised of dozens of specialized professions that collaborate on incredible projects, campaigns and other initiatives. In addition to housing the buying and planning functions for our Department Stores, Outlets, and Bloomingdales.com, many don’t realize that Bloomingdale’s houses its own internal Creative and Advertising department along with Marketing, Visual, Store Design, Finance, Public Relations, Security, Accounting, Human Resources and many more specialized teams. Although Bloomingdale’s is a multi-billion dollar brand, our Buyers and Planners have an intimate relationship with the store associates and customers. Because we strive to offer the customer contemporary merchandise and newness, our Buyers and Planners are skilled artisans in the craft of merchandise selection and allocation.

As a Buyer or Planner for Bloomingdale’s, you will be responsible for maximizing the sales and profitability for a particular family of business while maintaining our position as a fashion leader. You will also be responsible for the ongoing development of your Assistant or Senior Assistant Buyer.

The majority of Buyers and Planners across our three channels of business gain their experience by starting in our Executive Development Program – one of the nation’s leading training programs in retail. However, at times we do have a need to search externally for a position in our Merchant Organization. 59th Street Flagship

The 59th Street Flagship store occupies one square city block in Manhattan’s tony Upper East Side. Currently one of the top 5 tourist destinations in Manhattan, our 59th Street store boasts 10 floors of selling space, 5 restaurants including Magnolia Bakery, a Visitor’s Center that welcomes tourists from over 100 countries per year, an Ambassador program and so much more.

In addition to sales and support employment opportunities across a wide array of areas, the Flagship location also conducts one executive training program per year as well as offering internship opportunities.
