Job Overview:
In partnership with management, effectively plan and control inventories at the location level to maximize sales, inventory and profit. Ensure the company's commitment to be in stock on key item and replenished merchandise. Direct the distribution of goods to achieve store sales/turn/gross margin goals across areas of responsibility.
Core Responsibilities:
Develop location plans by department based on trend, store profiles, competition, and seasonal conversion issues.
Present business plans and strategies by location.
Develop core vendor plans by location.
Identify location growth opportunities and minimize down-trending businesses.
Determine demographic issues by region and partner with the buyer and store on potential merchandise adjustments.
Strategize with stores on assortment and locational business opportunities.
Maintain collaborative partnership and negotiate effectively with internal colleagues.
Skill Summary
Minimum of 2-3 years experience with merchandising, planning, forecasting and allocation in a retail environment.
Strong analytical skills.
Strong sense of urgency.
Strong PC and organizational skills.
Ability to work with all levels of management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
