Boston

*Page 1Page 2
When you work at one of the Bloomingdale's or Macy's East stores in Greater Boston or elsewhere in Eastern Massachusetts, it doesn't take long to find a lifestyle that's right for you.

Boston offers intellectual stimulation, as well as an eclectic energy that drives the city. Founded well over 400 years ago, the history of "Beantown" is apparent in just about every neighborhood and city block. History buffs will be in heaven on or at the Freedom Trail, Boston Harbor, and the Old North Church.

But don't be fooled into thinking that Boston is a city for the old and stodgy. Harvard, MIT and Boston College are just three of the 40 colleges and universities that are located in the city and surrounding areas. They attract an influx of students from across the country and around the world. To feel the energy, have a cup of coffee and listen to the street musicians in Harvard Square (Tracy Chapman got her start here) or go roller-blading through the Boston Common, Boston's Central Park. Other areas to scope out are the Back Bay area and Copley Square, with bars chock full of young professionals, and Quincy Market for its wide range of shops and restaurants.

If clubbing is your interest, Boston is alive with activity. Lansdowne Street serves as the city's mecca for clubs and Bostonians know this as the place to be for partygoers and ravers alike. If the Red Sox are in town, keep your eyes open for those home run balls - Lansdowne Street is just beyond Fenway Park's infamous Green Monster. Boston also boasts a great number of places to hear live music or relax with a frothy mug minus the dance beats. In the Financial District, you'll want to check out Sanctuary for eclectic eats and drinks or go old school and grab a bite at 1920s-themed Scollay Square.

Music lovers will want to hear local acts at The Middle East and the Lizard Lounge in Cambridge as well as the Paradise Rock Club. You can also knock down a few pins - and a few drinks - at Lucky Strike Lanes in the Jillian's Entertainment complex. On the North End (Boston's Little Italy), head to Belvedere to unwind after a work day.
