If you're coming to work for Bloomingdale's, Macy's Florida or Macy's Logistics and Operations in South Florida, you must like it hot! For those that do, South Florida's sizzle is hard to resist. The 80-plus-degree temperatures for most of the year are just a starting point. Add to that Miami's spicy Latin influence, and West Palm Beach's steamy star appeal - and it's no wonder this kindling coastal paradise is (with all due credit to Robert Palmer) ... simply irresistible. Miami is famous for its international flavor. With an eclectic mix of European, Caribbean, Central and South American cultures, the city celebrates the diversity of its people - earning it the nickname "the capital of the Western Hemisphere." It's this melding of people and influences that make for a lively city with a spunky and energetic personality. In Downtown Miami you will find the usual urbane business bustle along with a handful of restaurants, bars, shops and museums, but it is the character of the city's neighborhoods that will get in your veins. Well-known towns like Little Havana, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and Miami Beach attract locals and vacationers alike for a taste of their individual charm. Little Havana, with its concentration of Cuban- and Caribbean-native residents, offers a unique cultural experience, delightful ethnic cuisine, and one of the biggest block parties in the world (Calle Ocho Festival). Miami Beach's South Beach is legendary for its sidewalk cafes, upscale restaurants, art deco architecture, beautiful people and hip nightclubs (your choice of techno, hip hop, jungle and Latin music). You can even go to bed in South Beach! B.E.D., the trendy venue offering "Beverage, Entertainment, and Dining," uses beds instead of tables and serves delectable dinner and dessert. If you're just looking for a hearty meal, head to Shula's Steak House and take in the NFL memorabilia as well as the excellent steak and seafood. Also based in Miami are a myriad of big-time sports, from the Miami Dolphins, and Miami Heat, to the University of Miami Hurricanes. Throughout the region, you'll find more high-quality golf courses than you will have time to play (but it will be fun trying!).
