Planner Development
Becoming a successful planner takes plenty of planning of its own – including effective education. This training program consists of 17 core courses as well as additional classes as you advance in your career. Here are some of the courses you'll complete and their learning objectives:
Business Screen Expedition. This multimedia computer-based program answers the most common business questions you'll encounter immediately on the job. The content focuses on terminology and business screens used to gain this information.
Getting Started Workshop. Once you understand the business screens used to access performance information, you will complete a workbook on your business to prepare for this workshop. In the workshop, you'll discuss the business impact of performance numbers.
Location Management. Learn how to manage your business to maximize opportunities and minimize poor performance at the location level.
Formulating Peak Performance. This multimedia computer-based program teaches the basic math formulas used in a retail environment. You'll also learn the relationship of sales, stock, markdowns and receipts.
FedMAP. Discover the fundamental process of how the FedMAP system supports unit planning by store, allocation of merchandise and analysis through this multimedia computer-based training program.
Business Optimization. Learn how to manage your business to maximize profitability. Focus on the use of tools for reorders and addressing slow-selling merchandise.
Inforem: Mechanics of Daily Management. This multimedia computer-based training program examines the decisions made daily to manage a replenishment business. Content includes reviewing parameters, creating flow records and replenishing merchandise.
Training time varies by division and ranges between 4 and 12 weeks. Timing of training classes can also vary by division to facilitate on-the-job development.
