This 120-hour-per-semester paid internship is offered in the fall, spring and summer in New York City. Through its coursework, you’ll gain valuable experience to prepare you for your first position in a Buying office – and have a direct impact on helping our company reach objectives in sales, volume, gross margin and turnover.
What you have the opportunity to do
- Procure samples, keep track of their status and return them to vendors
- Maintain vendor contact lists and track photography shot counts
- Create leadsheets (lists of products that will be sold on macys.com, categorized by look)
- Enter detailed description of each item in Features & Benefits section
- Prepare materials for weekly presentations of new product launches
- Work on special projects as assigned and provide general administrative support
What to bring to the internship
- Junior year status working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, Marketing, or related fields with a solid academic record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Ability to meet deadlines while working independently and as part of a team
