Job Overview:
 
Customer specialist/FOB generalist.  Customer centric and advocates for customers in all trade area stores & online.  Locally based, spending more time in store, focused on the “right” assortment.  Functions as a strategic volume and margin partner to SVPGM.  Uses standardized communication to support clarity of expectations, maximized productivity and flawless execution.  
 
Essential Functions:
 
Merchant Strategy
• Informs long range merchandise planning strategy to maximize volume opportunities for TA/Market.
• Ensures communication of all seasonal merchandise strategies and application by location.
• Calls-out issues related to visual merchandising execution or content gaps to the appropriate store or central partners respectively. 
• Develop productive relationships with merchants and vendors at all appropriate levels including GMM’s and Principals.
 
Business Analysis
• Monitors sales performance for all stores/FOBs in the Trade Area/Market and advises the SVPGM on deficiencies. Achieves sale plan by prioritizing and driving the focus businesses.
• Owns the analysis/performance of sales floor productivity and collaborates with central partners and General Managers to create powerful store assortments.
• Evaluates gross margin mix/performance by location, raising opportunities for improvement with central and store partners.
 
Customer Insight
• Combines observation with available tools and data to understand localized customer demographics and how it translates to size, color and category preferences.
• Collaborates with Planning team to identify online trade area trends indicative of volume opportunity.
• Determines the optimal assortment similarities/differences by store within the TA based on customer.
 
Competitive Insight
• Scouts the competitive set regularly and serves as the resident expert for NYC.
• Informs appropriate local and central partners on new ideas and initiatives relevant to our business.
• Communicates (with pictures where possible) specific insight on content opportunities to merchant and planning partners and action necessary to compete effectively.
• Facilitates discussion about market share information to identify volume /wallet share opportunities.

Qualifications:
 
Education/Experience:
 
• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
