Job Overview:

The Visual Merchandise Manager is responsible for inspiring and driving the unique blend of our business with a strong creative sense of fashion leadership.  The Visual Merchandise Manager takes full responsibility for front of house planning to ensure day in/day out merchandise presentation techniques are compelling and consistent with corporate visual direction, merchandise strategies and high powered promotional event-driven marketing calendar. The Visual Merchandise Manager is responsible for inspirational fashion leadership and compelling merchandise statements that promotes suggested selling techniques in line with our brand.  They oversee and execute all merchandise strategies, merchandising teams, fashion trends, prototypes and presentation standards.  They are responsible for coaching and developing the visual and merchandise teams and performing other duties as assigned. 

Essential Functions:

Skill/Competency :  Developing the people and the team
• Lead a Visual/Merchandising Team to deliver a customer centric fashion leadership vision 
• Recruit, develop and retain an expert team of Visual/Merchandising Professionals
• Implement/deliver outstanding environment of presentation and merchandising
• Complete/deliver all performance management functions including RBP when appropriate. Provide on-going developmental coaching. Is a visible and responsive leader throughout the store
• Empower visual, merchandising and selling teams to ensure execution of all merchandise strategies, standards presentations and promotional events
• Ensure “on boarding” merchandise standards training for all new Sales Professionals 
• Cultivate a strong business partnership with store leadership team and market partners 
• Develop bench talent for visual,  merchandising and sales

Skill/competency:  Ensure Easy, Personal, Fashionable, Fun Experience
• Liaison between central and stores to align to marketing campaigns, create an exciting in store experience for our customers and support store business driving events
• Delivers an exceptional shopping experience to the customers through innovative and animated techniques of visual presentation and life style merchandising concepts

Skill/Competency: Oversees store presentation, merchandise implementation, floor moves and planning
• Partners with Store Operations Manager to lead Workload Planning meetings to set priorities/project outlines, educates, trains and conducts visual merchandise standards seminars 
• Cultivates a store team that understands their contribution to customer service through presentation techniques, store appearance and fashion leadership

Skill/Competency:  Business Ownership
• Understands comp business trend Plan/LY by using Branch comp and focus business reports 
• Utilizes promotional calendar to set priorities and meet deadlines for store events
• Maximize sales opportunity by leveraging our core values (People, Service, Clienteling, Loyalty) while executing central merchandise strategies to deliver the plan
• Responsibly manage elements of profitability: shortage and adherence to audit standards
• Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality  



  • A minimum of 1-3 years of Visual Merchandising retail management preferred

Communication Skills

  • Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and procedure manuals.  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills
  • Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Reasoning Ability
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Physical Demands

  • This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. It also involves stooping, kneeling, or crouching.  
  • Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Other Skills

  • Strong leadership profile and excellent negotiation skills.
Work Hours
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.
