Why work at Bloomingdale’s? What makes us the best employer in retail?
Is it the discount? The flexible schedule? The great benefits, pay and perks? The fact that we’re often the place for celebrity appearances and designer launches?
It’s all of those things, yes. But it’s also something more - an energy you feel when you walk in the door. A connection and a sense that exciting things are happening, whether it’s in our stores or corporate offices.
From part-time sales associates to corporate executives, people tell us that working here is different. That they’ve made friends and built relationships that make coming to work even more rewarding. That they feel part of a team. That what we have at Bloomingdale’s is special.
We’re looking for leaders that will help shape our future. If you’re ready to find your passion, end your search here.
Our history started in 1861, when brothers Joseph and Lyman Bloomingdale started selling hoop skirts in their Ladies’ Notions Shop in New York’s Lower East Side. Today, we’re America’s only nationwide, full-line, upscale department store. With over 50+ locations and an internationally known website – it’s easy to see that we thrive on innovation, commitment and creativity. Workplace diversity is more than an initiative to us. We’re committed to encouraging an inclusive environment by celebrating the individuality of our associates and our customers. We embrace diversity in thought, openness and background. Simply put, inclusion equals innovation and makes us “like no other.” Not only is this the culture of our organization, it’s how we embrace our customers. Whether you’re working in our retail stores, or corporate offices, you can make a positive impact on our commitment to a greener world. We’ve reduced packaging, switched to digital receipts and upgraded our stores to energy-efficient lighting.
Giving back to our communities is always in fashion. Through associate giving and our employee volunteer programs we support causes including Bag Hunger, United Way, American Cancer Society, City Meals on Wheels, God’s Love We Deliver, Mentoring USA and Ronald McDonald House.
Community involvement is important to us, and we’ll continue to “b.involved.” Want to learn more about Bloomingdale’s and being the change?
Throughout the year, whether it’s exciting philanthropic events in our stores or online, our b.cause program gives our employees opportunities to make positive changes in their communities. Learn about our b.cause program.
